Classes

Krav Maga represents the heart and soul of our school.  Krav Maga is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Forces.  Krav Maga is also widely taught to members of the U.S. military and law enforcement officers. Krav Maga is not a traditional martial art – no katas, no rituals.  Krav Maga is the premier reality-based self-defense system.Our Krav Maga classes will get you into fighting shape while teaching self-defense techniques that are effective and easy to learn.  You’ll have fun, get fit and learn how to defend yourself in a DYNAMIC and SAFE class environment.  These classes combine a great cardio workout with sports conditioning techniques, so you’ll burn fat and tone muscles.

Dresscode: Krav Maga t-shirt, sweatpants or appropriate shorts, dedicated non-skid sneakers or wrestling shoes (no street shoes).  Mouthgards and protective cups are always a good idea.

The Intro to Krav Maga classes introduce the basic principles, techniques and combatives that will be utilized in our Level 1 and 2 Krav Maga classes.  These classes are the perfect way to get a new student up to speed on this self-defense system.

Our Women’s Self-Defense classes focus on blending the unique situations that women must be prepared for with the effective techniques of Krav Maga.  These classes are for women only, so that the focus and discussion can address the specific concerns our students may have.  These classes generally focus more on self-defense and combative techniques and less on conditioning.  We have a lot of fun while addressing a serious subject.  Come join us to learn more!

km-X is our Krav Maga program for children ages 5 to 15.  It is a dynamic program that instructs students in realistic self defense, motivates them to improve their overall level of fitness and enriches them with crucial life skills so that they can become champions in all aspects of their lives.  We invite parents to bring your children out to participate in one of our classes.  There is no greater gift for a child than the real life skills that they learn in the km-X program.

CrossFit classes teach constantly varied functional movements done at high intensity.  Translation – every class is unique and will challenge you to push yourself to your personal best.  Classes will involve running (when the Nantucket weather cooperates), body-weight exercises and weight lifting.  Don’t panic!  Our instructors will teach you the proper form to help you to safely get into the best fitness conditioning you’ve ever known!  We all want to look great for the beach in the summer.  CrossFit will get you there!  And remember – machines are the enemy!

Kettlebell Training involves a cast iron weight that looks like a basketball with a handle, combined with cardio and core conditioning.  Kettlebells are an excellent fat-burning and conditioning tool because they involve the entire body, strengthening and stretching several muscle groups at once in coordinated movements.  We are proud to be an Art of Strength facility and the only facility on the island licensed to teach both Cardiobells and hard-style kettlebells.

Krav Cardio Heavy Bag classes work every muscle group for an intense power workout on a free-standing heavy bag.  These workouts focus on correct and safe form while incorporating many types of kicks and punching combinations, agility, cardio and core conditioning and lots of fun!  Also, there’s nothing better than this class when you need a healthy outlet for your daily frustrations!

Sculpting & Fitness classes will shape your body using light weights, isometric muscle work, strength training and core conditioning with medicine balls and exercise balls.  Tone and Sculpt is perfect complement to Cardio Fitness.
